Newar culture is famous for blending Hindu and tantric buddhist tradtions in Nepal, also rooted in earlier animistic tradtions, as both Hindu and Buddhist culture do in parts - as can be seen in archaic rituals of Dashein sacrifices for goddess Durga and her nine incarnations.
