Pashupati or Pashupatinath is a major Hindu sanctuary and pilgrimage destination, located at the Bagmati river at the border of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath temple is regarded the most sacred Shiva temple in Hindu world. At the Bagmati river are ghats for cremation, many shrines and shelters for Sadhus. Pashupati is the name of Shiva as a kind and peaceful incarnation, according to legend living here in the deer forest.
