Jaisalmer - also called the golden city because of the yellowish stone it was built of, is middle age desert capitol with Fort and major Jain temples in Rajastan, India. The Jain temples in the Fort, built between 12th and 16th century, are rich in elaborate stone carvings. Jaisalmer used to be a state, carawans and trade crossing here, the desert area around Jaisalmer with its people and culture is part of the unique and magic atmosphere of Jaisalmer.
